A very well known traditional beetle pattern much used in Wales. Fished in the top surface film on a floating line it is a good pattern when black terrestrial insects are being blown on to the surface of the lake or reservoirs. It can also be fished deep on a sinking line, being retrieved slowly imitating some grubbing insect, sometimes with great results.
